Chattanooga Stampede Pro Rodeo Where & When
Most Helpful Review
Very poorly organized
My family and I regularly attend events in the venue the rodeo was held this month and this was the most poorly organized event we've experienced to date. First, the wristband process included all attendees standing in line for the ticket booth, regardless of whether you purchased online and had QR codes in hand. The line wrapped around the street for those that had pre-purchased tickets and created a great deal of confusion and frustration for those that handled tickets in advance. The process was actually designed to benefit those that bought tickets on site only. Their line was incredibly short and they were purchasing new tickets and walking in well in advance of pre-purchase patrons. After the 30+minute line to have my ticket scanned while I watched onsite purchasers walk past me and into the event, the single security station created another unnecessary backlog to experience before entering the event. Seating for the rodeo was oversold by 150+ people at a conservative estimate. When we arrived, the bleachers were completely full and we joined a very large crowd of attendees with nowhere to go. If we stood by the fences we were blocking those in the bleachers and there was no available space in the bleachers. Workers came by to tell people to move and they were being ushered behind the shoots and into the bathroom/vendors area. Obviously being moved into those areas means you cannot view the rodeo you paid to attend. There was a long period of time at the beginning of the rodeo in which the crowds were quite verbal and angry with having no seating capacity. My family and I ended up sitting on the dirt floor at the fenceline to try to see the rodeo over the advertisement signs hung along the fence bottom. The police and event workers seemed ok with people sitting on the concrete floor at the fence, which seemed like an awful solution for paying patrons. We ultimately were never able to find a seat for our 3-person family, got dirty and tired of sitting on the concrete and peering between the signage on the fence so we left one hour after it began. Greed to sell tickets seems to have overridden the desire for hosting a great event for Chattanooga families. The speaker system was also not working for the space and no one could understand anything those with mics were saying. It was just loud and confusing. We would not attend again. These issues seem like event management 101 that should have been avoided.
Terrible experience
Nice work overselling the venue by more than double. No where to sit and forced to sit in the concrete. Never again.
